Karley Holley, executive director of the Mission Downtown Business Association has been unanimously accepted to serve on the Board of Directors of the Business Improvement Areas of British Columbia (BIABC).

Holley will be formally inducted into the board at BIABC's Annual General Meeting and conference in North Vancouver this April.

This nomination marks a significant milestone for both Holley and the MDBA, as it underscores the growing influence and commitment of Mission's downtown business community. This new role on the BIABC board will further strengthen the MDBA's ability to advocate for the interests of businesses and residents in Mission.

"Being nominated and accepted to the BIABC Board of Directors is a tremendous honour," said Holley. "I am excited about the opportunity to represent Mission and to work collaboratively with other board members to help strengthen the voice of local businesses across the province. As Mission continues to grow and evolve rapidly, this partnership will play a crucial role in supporting our community's economic development and advocating for the needs of our businesses."

According to a press release, the BIABC plays a “vital role in supporting business communities throughout British Columbia,” and Holley's addition to the Board will “ensure that Mission has a direct influence in shaping policies that benefit local businesses.”

"This is a huge achievement not only for Karley but for the entire community. As Mission's downtown area grows, this new position will ensure that our needs and priorities are heard at a provincial level, ultimately helping local businesses expand and succeed.” said Dawn Styran, Chair of the Mission Downtown Business Association.
